DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH:
    My areas of research are in bone and soft tissue as well as pediatric/perinatal pathology. I participate in multidisciplinary clinical and research conferences at University Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center and the Cancer and Therapy Research Center. I am director of the San Antonio Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Bank which houses a wide variety of rare frozen and fixed tumor samples. These samples are available to researchers for molecular/genetic research upon request. My teaching responsibilities include the MS2 course module for musculoskeletal pathology as well as didactic lectures and slide presentations to Pathology and Orthopedic residents in bone and soft tissue pathology. I am involved in several research projects with the Departments of Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radiology and Pediatrics. I am responsible for all perinatal/pediatric autopsies as well as pediatric surgical specimens.
